SEYRAN

ARSLAN HAZRETI kamancheh
with Veka Aler voice
and Peppe Frana oud

Seyran means taking a trip that pushes you to discover across places and horizons, but which can also lead you to travel within the inner depths, in search of the mystical secret. In the eastern tradition, the word also indicates the path that each musician traces for their listeners, sequencing the repertoire of melodies preserved by memory to take a journey together through music.

Arslan Hazreti has a deep knowledge of the musical cultures of Persia and Azerbaijan, and personally re-elaborates their styles by playing the kamancheh (kemençe), a bowed instrument that occupies a prominent place in the Middle Eastern soundscape.

Alongside him we will listen to the voice of Veka Aler and Peppe Frana’s oud in a series of Turkish, Kurdish, Persian and Azerbaijani songs that speak of human love and love for truth. Listening allows us to know one by way of the other, discovering the traces of what binds them together within the music.
