New scholarship for students born in and residents of Africa

Siena, 25 February 2022 – The Thinking Watermill Society, within the project “Music brings people together”, in 2022 will provide a scholarship of € 2.000 that will be assigned to the Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena, Italia, to allow a student born in and resident of a State of the African Continent to attend the master classes of the Accademia Chigiana. The scholarship will consist in the tuition fees to attend the course, as well as, travel expenses, accommodation, the cost of living in Siena. The selected candidate will be chosen from the eligible applicants admitted to the courses. The purpose of the initiative is to allow the music student to improve their skills by attending the master classes of the Accademia Chigiana, with the great masters of today.

The scholarship will be awarded by a Committee formed by the Accademia Musicale Chigiana, which will also include a representative of The Thinking Watermill Society.

The name of the scholarship awardee will be announced by the Accademia Chigiana at the end of the entrance examinations and admissions process.

The Thinking Watermill Society is a no profit organization located in Rome, which promotes the debate and the exchange of ideas among its members, the debate regarding the changes underway in the economic, cultural and social landscape, together with the analysis of the consequences that said changes entail, so as to identify the possible opportunities of economic, cultural and social growth related to such changes. The Thinking Watermill Society promotes dialogue and culture as instruments of mutual respect, peace and prosperity among peoples.
