In autumn 2016, the Accademia Musicale Chigiana and the Opera della Metropolitana di Siena created a polyphonic Choir composed of experienced choristers, with the goal of building a new, stable choral ensemble in Siena dedicated to the principal liturgical celebrations of the Cathedral, in addition to performing in concerts and other important cultural/artistic musical events.

The Accademia Musicale Chigiana, together with the Metropolitana di Siena, opens a new call for auditions, which will take place in two phases this year (the first selection will happen online, the second, reserved for candidates that have passed the first selection, will happen in person in Siena) to evaluate the vocal compatibility of the candidates. The opportunity to join the Choir of the Siena Cathedral “Guido Chigi Saracini”via audition is reserved to voices within the canonic vocal registers of Soprano, Mezzosoprano/Contralto, Tenor e Baritone/Bass. Candidates who were not deemed suitable at previous auditions can audition again during this call. Candidate who were already deemed eligible during a previous audition can also reapply if they would like to repeat their audition.

• At least 18 years of age
• Be in good-standing according to the law
• Adequate knowledge of Italian language
• Not be subject to criminal convictions that lead to dismissal from the public administration
• Physical suitability for the job, and no prejudice or hostility towards Christian values

The stated prerequisites must be possessed by the deadline for submission of the application form for the call for auditions.
